Cheshire Ireland Consumer Committees
Cheshire Ireland is committed to supporting and developing the role of consumers in the provision and management of its services.
To advance this aim, a National Consumer’s Committee has been in existence since 1996. This Committee represents the people that use Cheshire services throughout the country.
National Consumer’s Committee
The role of the National Consumer’s Committee is to:
- Inform, consult with and to act as a voice for all residents of Cheshire homes
- Discuss and consider all aspects of living in a Cheshire home both with reference to particular homes and in general
- Advise and propose actions to the Chief Executive and the Board of Trustees, in relation to matters of relevance to people living in Cheshire homes
- Ensure that residents of Cheshire homes are represented on all bodies/committees of relevance to their life…and to ensure that the views and opinions of people living in Cheshire homes are made known to all policy makers
Since its establishment, the National Consumer Committee has contributed to a wide range of issues and areas affecting those who use Cheshire services.
In 2004, Cheshire Ireland established three Regional Consumer Committees to strengthen the voice of people that use Cheshire services around the country.
