About
Emmanuel was opened in 1982 near the centre of Ballina town, close to a variety of shops and community facilities. It became a Cheshire centre in 1992, when the service was transferred to Cheshire by Sister Acquinas. There is a range of accommodation available for service users, including single and double rooms in the main house, 4 purpose-built cottages and a modernised bungalow in the grounds near the main house.
Facilities
- Single and double rooms in the main house.
- Several communal rooms in the main house, consisting of a sitting room, dining room, kitchen, oratory and hairdressing room.
- 4 purpose-built modern cottages in the grounds of the main house, 2 of them with two bedrooms each and all with sitting room, kitchen and bathroom.
- Self-contained bungalow, called 'The Lodge', in the grounds of the main house, with 5 bedrooms (4 en suite) and a conservatory, kitchen and bathroom.
Services Available
- 24-hour care and support from trained staff, including housing services.
- Transport services provided by Emmanuel's vehicles for users and for members of the local community.
Community Links
- Emmanuel’s transport is used by the local branches of the Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) and MS Society.
- Personal care services are provided to members of the local community who need assistance or do not have facilities.
