About
Waterford Cheshire is one of the newest Cheshire centres to be opened in Ireland, with the first service users moving in during early 2003. Located close to the city centre, with all its amenities and several wheelchair-accessible cinemas and theatres. Waterford Cheshire is in the grounds of St. Patrick’s Hospital, on a direct low-level accessible bus route that stops outside the door. The centre accommodates 13 service users in private self-contained apartments, set out in two distinct blocks around a central building with excellent communal facilities. Each apartment has a living room, kitchen and bedroom with en suite bathroom, designed for supported independent living in the mainstream community; three of the apartments have 2 bedrooms to allow for a relative or carer to stay or for use as an office. In addition, there are 4 apartments available for dedicated respite care.
