About
Galway Cheshire House opened in the 1990’s on what was a rural site in Galway. Today it sits in the centre of a residential area with easy access to transport links to Galway City and all the amenities that it has to offer.
“What I like about living in Galway Cheshire is that I’m answerable to nobody, and get to do the things I like to do. For instance I attend Toastmasters, Ballybane Singers Choir and Men’s Shed. Our Residents Committee organise in-house activities and we make decisions there, it helps us get our voice heard.”
“It’s nice and easy going here in Cheshire. We take it as it comes, very relaxing and soothing.”
“I’m getting great support learning to live independently since I moved into Cheshire. I love Cheshire, I think it’s the best place I’ve ever lived. The staff encourage me in every way, to achieve what I can achieve. I’m writing my own articles now for the Galway Cheshire Times Magazine and I’m a volunteer with Galway 2020 and loving every minute of it all! I haven’t really scratched the surface yet, I’m going to do more on becoming more independent and I want to do more writing.”
