About
O’Dwyer Cheshire Home was opened in 1976 as the fulfilment of a dream of the late Hon. Paul O’Dwyer, long-time activist and human rights campaigner in the US with the support and assistance of the local and wider Bohola and Mayo Community.
The centre was built on the grounds of his family home, set in landscaped gardens in a peaceful rural setting. The Home is close to Bohola Village and the towns of Kiltimagh and Swinford and is 25km from Castlebar. The centre now has 5 apartments and 2 additional respite rooms.
